LAHORE/SKOPJE: An electronic Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the International Council of Traditional Sports and Games and the Ministry of Culture of North Macedonia.
On behalf of the Council, President Khalil Ahmed Khan whereas on behalf of the Ministry, Minister H.E. Hysni Ismaili signed the MoU which mentioned that:
The Parties aim to undertake measures in line with the following objectives of cooperation:
- achievement of sustainable development and popularization of traditional sports in the Republic of North Macedonia in terms of consolidated efforts by each Party according to tasks and functions provided by the current sports legislation of the Republic of Macedonia and the constituent documents of the Parties; and
- interaction with organizations operating in the field of traditional sports in order to implement common goals.
Due to the ongoing global pandemic, it was mutually agreed by both parties, that an electronic version of the MoU should be signed in order to stay safe and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The MoU further mentions that:
1.1 The Parties agree to discuss and explore various forms of cooperation including, but not limited to:
a. exchange of information in the field of sports and culture;
b exchange of invitations to Head of States, Ministers, representatives of Governments and scholars/experts to participate in conferences, meetings and workshops;
c. joint research and promotional activities for the development of traditional sports and games;
d. active organization and holding of press conference(s) to provide updates on the projects being undertaken by the Parties collectively;
provision of information to visitors in relation to the development of traditional sports in the Republic of North Macedonia; and
e. organize International Seminars and conferences as well as Sports Events;
f. using best efforts to implement the objectives and tasks determined through this Memorandum of Understanding.
This Memorandum of Understanding has been signed for three (03) years effective from the date of signing.
