A defining milestone of TSG Day 2025 was the formation of the ICTSG Women's Committee -a dedicated body focused on expanding the role of women in the governance, practice, and preservation of traditional sports and games worldwide.

The formation acknowledges a fundamental truth: women have historically been the primary custodians of traditional games and cultural practices in communities around the world. Yet women have been systematically underrepresented in institutional bodies governing these sports at national and international levels.

THE FOUR PILLARS

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT: Training programs for women seeking roles as ICTSG National Chapter leaders, committee members, and regional representatives. The committee aims to achieve 40% women's representation in all ICTSG governance bodies by 2027.

ATHLETE RECOGNITION: A dedicated track within ICTSG's competitions and championships for women's categories, including sports that were historically women-only (such as Bashi in the Maldives).

DOCUMENTATION AND RESEARCH: A research program specifically focused on women's traditional sports -many of which have never been formally documented -ensuring they are represented in the ICTSG Online Encyclopedia.

ADVOCACY AND POLICY: Engagement with national governments and international bodies to ensure TSG preservation policies include gender equity provisions.
