The International Council of Traditional Sports and Games (ICTSG) is powered by a dedicated team of professionals, advisors, and volunteers who share a deep commitment to the preservation and promotion of traditional sports and games as living cultural heritage.

President

Khalil Ahmed Khan, Attorney-at-Law, Lahore, Pakistan, serves as President of ICTSG. He is the principal architect of the global traditional sports and games movement, having championed the cause through UNESCO processes since 1999. As Chairman of the UNESCO Ad Hoc Advisory Committee on TSG for over a decade, he guided the movement through its most consequential milestones, from the first Collective Consultation in 2006 to the formal establishment of ICTSG in Istanbul in 2018.

Under his leadership, ICTSG has grown from a collective vision into a formally recognized international organization with National Chapters in over 50 countries. In 2024, he led the ICTSG delegation to the United Nations Summit of the Future in New York, meeting with UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay.

Ambassador-at-Large

Joel Bouzou, four-time Olympic Modern Pentathlon competitor and founder of Peace and Sport, serves as ICTSG's Ambassador-at-Large. His career in Olympic sport and pioneering work in using sport as a tool for peace bring unparalleled credibility to ICTSG's international advocacy.

Advisory Committee

ICTSG's Advisory Committee brings together distinguished experts from across Africa, Asia, Europe, the Arab World, and the Americas -- legal scholars, government officials, academics, cultural heritage professionals, and civil society leaders collectively representing decades of expertise.

National Chapter Leaders

Across the more than 50 countries where ICTSG has active National Chapters, dedicated community leaders serve as the face of ICTSG in their respective countries. They organize national TSG Day celebrations, conduct documentation projects, engage government ministries, and develop youth programs.

Volunteers and Partners

Thousands of volunteers, practitioners, academics, journalists, and cultural heritage professionals contribute to ICTSG's work globally. ICTSG's team is united by a shared conviction: that the world's traditional sporting heritage is a treasure worth protecting for all generations to come.
