The European Commission annually funds projects that support these traditional practices, creating opportunities to pass on this valuable heritage to new generations. She also said that "it is great pleasure to celebrate the International Day of Traditional Sports and Games today". The European Commission’s collaboration with the International Council of Traditional Sports and Games (ICTSG) plays a key role in advancing the development and recognition of TSG. Their mutual cooperation aims to promote traditional sports not only in Europe but globally, fostering unity and cultural appreciation through sport.
