The Government of Kazakhstan and the Kazakhstan Ethnosport Association organized a Championship on traditional sports in Almaty, Kazakhstan, from April 20-21, 2019. The event brought together athletes from across the nation and neighboring countries to showcase their skills in traditional sports, reinforcing Kazakhstan’s commitment to preserving and promoting its cultural heritage through sports. This was in line of Kazakhstan's commitment to organize 1st World Traditional Games as allocated by the Member States during the 4th CC Meeting. The event was attended by UNESCO Director Mrs. Angela Melo and ICTSG President Mr. Khalil Ahmed Khan, along with other prominent members, further highlighting the significance of this championship in the international community.
