Due to the widespread COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown in many countries, the International Council of Traditional Sports and Games (ICTSG) has decided to extend the deadline for the submission of the Expression of Interest (EOI) Form for hosting the World Traditional Sports and Games. In a letter addressed to the Ministers of Sports and Culture of interested governments, the General Secretary stated: "The ICTSG stands behind the TSG community and hereby offers its hand of facilitation by way of extending the deadline for submission of Expressions of Interest (EOIs) and relevant supporting documentation for hosting the First World Traditional Sports and Games in 2022 from 15th May 2020 to 30th September 2020." He further mentioned that this decision was taken to allow Member States adequate time to prepare their EOIs given the global lockdown situation and to ensure equal opportunity for all participating nations.
