She currently serves as Professor and Chair of the Department of Kinesiology and Recreation Administration at North Carolina Central University, USA. With over three decades of experience, Dr. Rotich has been at the forefront of advancing physical education, community health, and equity in sports. A dual citizen of Kenya and the United States, Dr. Rotich brings a unique international perspective to her work. She is the Founder and CEO of WOYO Global Diversity Consulting and JVV Wellness and Safety LLC, as well as the President and Founder of Kenya Students in Diaspora (KESID). Her influence extends globally through her contributions to policy, research, and grassroots empowerment initiatives. Dr. Rotich has held pivotal roles at North Carolina A&T State University and is a Research Fellow at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Her academic and professional accomplishments have earned her over 23 major awards, including honors for leadership, teaching excellence, and outstanding community service. She is also a widely sought-after speaker, having delivered keynote addresses and presentations at high-level forums focusing on Traditional Sports and Games (TSG), education, health disparities, and cultural inclusion. In her role as Member of Traditional Sports and Games Research Commission at ICTSG, Dr. Rotich champions the integration of TSG into global health and wellness agendas. She is deeply committed to promoting TSG as tools for physical fitness, mental wellbeing, gender equity, and cultural preservation—aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
